Update on our collective claim against TikTok

The date for the oral hearing of phase 1 is determined on Monday, 10th October, 2022. The first phase of the procedure starts with a hearing on the defendants' statement on the jurisdiction of Dutch court. Following the oral hearing, the (interlocutory) judgment on this may be expected within a period of 2-6 months.


HT-Token is now available on in-app purchase

Over the past months, we have been working on switching our data requests service to a paid service.

All basic GDPR services on our app, such as Data Processing Entities ('DPE's) database, our privacy resources library and the possibilities to report privacy violations will remain free.

With the introduction of HT-Tokens as credits on our SOMI app we introduce paid GDPR-related services.

HT-tokens can now be purchased via in-app purchase for both iOS and Android users. The tokens are available in credit packages and action bundles.

How to buy HT-Tokens?

1. Login to your profile on SOMI app and go to your Wallet

2. Under the 'Packages' tab, you will find all available token packages

3. Select a package and click on 'BUY NOW' button

4. You can now purchase HT-Tokens with your preferred payment method through the App Store or in your Play Store

5. To check your balance, go to the 'My packages' menu item via your Wallet section

You can also earn (extra) HT tokens for your contribution to the SOMI app such as by inviting friends, reviewing the app or subscribing to our newsletter.

1. Where else can I buy HT-Tokens?

HT-Tokens can also be purchased in your secured online account on my.somi.nl.

2. Can I use HT-Tokens elsewhere?

No, HT-Tokens can only be spent on SOMI app for our paid services such as 'Collect' , 'Collect & Investigate', or 'Collect & Erase', as well as on the 'Data-leak check' feature. 

3. Why is monetization of SOMI app necessary?

Since the launch of the SOMI app in October 2022, we have been able to offer all our services for free. However, the large number of data requests we have received from across the EU makes it difficult for us to continue to do this for free while at the same time continuing to improve the quality of our app.

This step was necessary to guarantee quality and to be able to continue to work in a cost-effective manner. It offers us the opportunity to continue to expand our future services in the field of privacy protection and data autonomy.
