TikTok Claim Hearing at the Amsterdam Court of Appeal
On April 2nd and 3rd, the appeal hearing took place at the Amsterdam Court of Appeal in the case against TikTok. SOMI is challenging the preceding ruling of January 10th, 2024. In this appeal, we have not only included more TikTok entities but by this appeal, we have also expanded the group of victims, to include adults. Also, we appealed in relation to the subject of immaterial damages. We firmly believe that the court wrongly ruled that non-material damages must be assessed individually. Finally, we contest the decision regarding the appointment of the exclusive representative in this important case. The judgment is expected to be announced on October 7th, 2025.

The New SOMI App: More control over your online safety!
At SOMI, we never stand still. Over the past few months, we have worked hard on a significant improvement to the user experience of our application. We are proud to announce that a completely redesigned user interface with advanced features will be launched at the end of May! This new app is designed to give you more insight and control over your online safety and the protection of your personal data.
We are introducing an innovative reward system with achievements and in-app tokens, making learning about your rights an engaging and interactive experience. A key new feature is our automated system that allows you to easily submit data deletion requests to virtually any company. Our system monitors progress with automatic reminders and initiates follow-up actions if necessary, such as sending a formal letter of complaint with a claim for damages on your behalf, including a breakdown of the costs incurred or estimated.
Naturally, in the event of any persistent violations of the GDPR legislation, we will file a report thereto with the relevant EU Data Protection Authority. If companies fail to comply, we will not hesitate to initiate individual or collective legal action to safeguard your rights.
Invest in Justice: SOMI Capital and Litigation Certificates Series 2025
SOMI is currently offering a new series of certificates that provide you with the opportunity to participate in the profit rights of our ongoing legal proceedings. This allows both consumers and investors to actively support social causes and collective lawsuits.
Wherever possible, we choose to grow and attract our funding by the general public within the EU, in particular our claim participants and EU private citizens. Private equity – in particular from outside the EU – often demands influence over campaign choices as well as a substantial percentage of our participants damages compensation, aiming to recover their investments and returns as quickly as possible. To protect the right of big tech victims to their fair and full compensation, SOMI strives for maximum independence, ensuring that the proceeds from legal proceedings are shared fairly with the participants in our collective actions and private citizens/investors within the EU.
For the SOMI Capital Certificates Series 2025, a minimum initial investment of €100,000 is required. In the event of a positive outcome of SOMI's collective claims and depending on the final judgment(s) or approval of the settlement(s), SOMI will pay out up to six times the amount invested in the Capital Certificates. At the end of the ten-year term, the principal of the Capital Certificates on which no return has been paid will be fully repaid.
In addition, we offer the SOMI Litigation Certificates Series 2025, which can be registered from an amount of €1,000. The potential payout upon successful conclusion is five times the invested amount. In the event of no return over the 10-year period after the investment has been made, these litigation certificates will expire at the end of their duration.
